Known for its scenic landscapes and motorsports history, Talladega County in east-central Alabama contains several small towns and communities worth discovering.


Talladega is the largest city and county seat, with around 15,500 residents. It is home of the Talladega Superspeedway racetrack and Talladega College. Historic attractions include the Jemison Carnegie Heritage Hall Museum and the First Presbyterian Church of Talladega.


Located northeast of Talladega, Lincoln has approximately 6,500 residents. It contains historic buildings like the Lincoln Theatre and Lincoln Depot Museum. Outdoor attractions include Talladega National Forest and Cheaha State Park.


With around 2,000 residents, Munford lies between Talladega and Lincoln along Highway 21. This small town is home to the Big Wills Creek Historical Association and the Louvin Brothers Museum honoring the musical duo.
