Honesdale is the county seat of Wayne County with a population of around 5,000 residents. Located along the Lackawaxen River, Honesdale has a historic downtown district filled with 19th century buildings. Popular attractions include the Wayne County Historical Society and Museum.


Hawley is a borough located along the Middle Creek in northern Wayne County. It has around 1,200 residents. The downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes 1920s era commercial buildings. Hawley hosts an annual arts festival each September.
