Thanks to its picturesque coastline and harbor, Fort Bragg has become a popular tourist destination. Visitors flock to the area to enjoy fishing, whale watching, surfing and the stunning beaches of MacKerricher State Park. The logger history of Fort Bragg is on display at the Guest House Museum downtown.

Willits

Covelo

Tucked away in a mountain valley, Covelo is one of Mendocino County’s most remote towns. Indigenous tribes lived in the area for centuries before European settlers arrived in the mid-1800s. Covelo maintains its old west atmosphere of ranching and rodeos during the annual Round Valley Blackberry Festival. The surrounding wilderness offers opportunities for hiking, camping and fishing.

In contrast to more populated areas of California, Mendocino County’s small towns encapsulate the rustic charm and natural beauty of Northern California. From the coast to the mountains, each town has its own unique story and character.
