Florida is the southeasternmost U.S. state, with the Atlantic on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. It has hundreds of miles of beaches and is known for its Latin-American cultural influences and notable arts scene, as well as its nightlife, especially in upscale South Beach.
The state's largest city is Miami, which is known for its nightlife and beaches. Orlando is famed for theme parks, including Walt Disney World. Tallahassee is the capital city of Florida and home to Florida State University.
The state capital is Tallahassee, which is located on the peninsula that divides Tampa Bay from the Gulf of Mexico. Its current governor is Ron DeSantis (Republican Party). The population of Florida in 2020 was 21.22 million people.
Florida has two senators: Marco Rubio (Republican Party) and Rick Scott (Republican Party).
