Loma Linda is a town located in the county of San Bernardino in the U.S. state of California. Its population at the 2010 census was 23,261. After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 24,581 inhabitants.

Loma Linda is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States, that was incorporated in 1970. The population was 24,791 at the 2020 census, up from 23,261 at the 2010 census.
The city's name stems from the Spanish meaning "beautiful earth" or "beautiful slope" for its location on the lower foothills of San Bernardino Mountain. In 1905, George Eugene Covina (1875-1962), son of Italian immigrants, purchased Rancho Santa Ana del Chino in what would become Loma Linda from his father-in-law Daniel Freeman. He later sold it to James Irvine and John Pirtle. The ranch was a major citrus producer and Covina became a large shareholder in both Rancho Cucamonga (now known as Rancho Cucamonga) and San Bernardino Valley Bank which was located in Redlands about 20 miles northwest of Loma Linda. In October 1953 Covina donated 120 acres (49 ha) for what would become California State University
Loma Linda is known for its close-knit family feel, high quality of life and natural beauty.
It also has a rich history as a center of education and research that began in 1885 when Seventh-day Adventists established Loma Linda Academy (now Loma Linda University). In the early 1900s, it became one of the first cities in Southern California to have electricity and telephones. Today it is home to one of the largest hospitals in California and an internationally recognized medical school.
