Occupying a remote corner of the Texas countryside along the Mexican border, Hudspeth County contains vast ranchlands dotted by a few small tight-knit communities. Though very sparsely populated, these towns serve as important centers of commerce and social life in this isolated desert region. Some of the most notable cities and towns in Hudspeth County include Sierra Blanca, Fort Hancock, McNary, and Dell City.

Sierra Blanca acts as the county seat and is located on Interstate 10. Fort Hancock provides historical significance along the Rio Grande. McNary serves the area's ranching industry. And Dell City boasts genuine old west vibes.

It is the third-largest county by area in Texas and the 18th-largest county in the contiguous United States, covering 4,572 square miles. The county seat and the largest community is Sierra Blanca, which had a population of 553 as of 2010. Hudspeth County is one of the nine counties that comprise the Trans-Pecos region of West Texas. Hudspeth County has no incorporated cities, but it has three towns and several other places. Here are some brief introductions to each of them:

  • Sierra Blanca: The seat of government and the largest town in the county, with a population of 553. It is located east of El Paso, on Interstate 10.
