History of Dundalk
Dundalk has an important history as a major steel manufacturing center. The town was named after Dundalk, Ireland and incorporated in 1903. For much of the 20th century, Dundalk was dominated by the local steel industry and shipbuilding. The legacy of these industries can still be seen.
