Pueblo is a home rule municipality that is the county seat and the most populous city of Pueblo County, Colorado. It is situated along the Arkansas River in the Colorado Plains just east of the Rocky Mountains.
History
Pueblo was founded in 1842 and was an important trading post and developing town due to its proximity to the Arkansas River. It officially became a city in 1885. Its history is closely tied to steel production and the railroad, which brought significant growth and prosperity in the late 1800s.
