Seabrook is a town located in the county of Rockingham in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. Its population at the 2010 census was 8,693 and a population density of 906 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 8,844 inhabitants.

The town was created 255 years ago in 1768.

Seabrook is a small town located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire along the state's short coastline. The town was first settled in 1668 and was officially incorporated in 1768. Seabrook was originally part of Hampton, NH but broke off to become its own municipality.

For most of its early history, Seabrook was an agricultural and fishing community. The area provided excellent access to the Atlantic Ocean, allowing the town to thrive in maritime industries like fishing, boat building and sail making. Mills were also established along the many rivers in Seabrook, supporting industries like lumber and gristmilling.

Key Attractions in Seabrook

Today, Seabrook is best known as the location of the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant, the first nuclear power plant opened in New Hampshire. The plant was commissioned in 1990 and provides power for most of New Hampshire.

Outside of the power plant, key attractions include:

  • Seabrook Beach - A long stretch of sandy beach along the Atlantic Ocean. Popular for swimming, sunbathing and surfing.
