Fishers is a city located in the county of Hamilton in the U.S. state of Indiana. Its population at the 2010 census was 76,794 and a population density of 797 people per km². After 10 years in 2020 city had an estimated population of 97,020 inhabitants.

The city was created 135 years ago in 1890.

Fishers is a suburb of Indianapolis located in Hamilton County. It was originally called Fishers Switch when settled in the 1870s. Fishers saw population growth starting in the 1990s and officially became a city in 2014.

Fishers has a mayor-council form of government. The city’s first mayor Scott Fadness was elected in 2015. The city council consists of 7 members who represent different districts.
