Lenoir

  • Lenoir is the largest city and county seat of Caldwell County. It has a population of around 18,000 residents. Lenoir was founded in 1891 and is home to furniture manufacturing, fiber optic cable production, and food processing companies. Points of interest include the Caldwell Heritage Museum and the Lenoir Downtown District.

Hudson

  • Hudson is a small town located south of Lenoir near the Catawba River. It has around 4,000 residents. Hudson got its start as a railroad town and was incorporated in 1879. Today it has a charming historic downtown and hosts events like the Hudson Sip & Savor Craft Beer Festival.

Sawmills

  • Sawmills is located along the Yadkin River and has about 2,500 residents. It has a long history associated with riverboat trade and lumber production. The Sawmills Bridge crossing the river is on the National Register of Historic Places. The town celebrates its heritage with the annual Sawmills Day festival.

Granite Falls

  • Granite Falls is a town of around 4,500 located southwest of Lenoir. It is named for the granite rock cliffs overlooking the falls on the Catawba River. Granite Falls is known for Wilson Creek Vineyards and the historic Wilson Creek Covered Bridge which dates back to 1909.

Gamewell
