The city was created 203 years ago in 1821.

History and Culture

As one of the oldest cities west of the Mississippi River, Little Rock has a rich history. The Clinton Presidential Center offers exhibits on the life and legacy of the 42nd president, who served as governor of Arkansas before taking office.

The Historic Arkansas Museum documents the state's frontier days through galleries and historic homes. The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center highlights African American history and culture in Arkansas.
